I created the top left photo in Photoshop by adding the two photos as layers, resizing until I liked the fit and adding another layer with the title. I added the journaling by hand straight onto the white space I’d left blank for this. The video we were talking to Sebbie about on Facetime (and that refers to the grapes) is The Duck Song. I warn you – this is one of those addictive kids songs that you will find yourself singing at random moments. Even when you don’t have kids. The next photo is from last Tuesday when it started to rain … and rain … and rain. Yup, still raining!
Across the middle is a photo of last week’s photography set up, complete with cat on the windowsill. I cut a Seafoam ‘currently’ journaling card to fit across the top left corner of this photo and attached with double sided adhesive. The next pocket is another Seafoam journaling card all about the ‘Quest for Good Light’. This week also has an Amy Tangerine theme and the strip across the top of this journal card is a fabric sticker from Amy’s ‘Sketchbook‘ line. The next pocket is a photo from Thursday afternoon in the city and the last pocket is a quote from Ali Edwards’ blog that I saw last week and it resonated quite strongly with me.
The bottom left pocket is a photo that Simon sent to the real estate to let them know that our lawns still haven’t been mown (It’s now 7 weeks and counting. I swear the lawn mowing guy has forgotten our address) and that it is now a JUNGLE out there. The letters are American Crafts Thickies (Amy Tangerine) and the yellow sticker is another ‘Sketchbook’ fabric sticker of Amy’s. The last pocket on this side is similar to the top left pocket by using layers of photos, text and a Paisless Press ‘Writer’s Block‘ tag. Simon had to go back into work one night to finish off a few things so I tagged along to keep him company.
This week’s title is in the top right pocket for some variety. The base is a Seafoam title card but I’ve added an Amy Tangerine ‘Sketchbook‘ flower sticker and a die cut from Amy’s ‘Good Times’ set. The stamped words are from Dear Lizzy’s ‘5th and Frolic‘ acrylic stamp set. I also broke out my watercolour pencils and added a little more dimension around the flower, like a sketchbook! (see what I did there? Amy Tangerine ‘Sketchbook’-using watercolours … nevermind). There were a few things going on last week that are too personal to put into my album (or on the blog). The word ‘Relief’ on the photo of the roses is enough of a cue for me to remember what that is about.
Across the middle are photos from the weekend: an Instagram photo at breakfast (using a Chic Tags ‘Autumn Days’ label for some journaling), a photo of Simon and on the end a photo of me from Sunday lunch. The ‘We Were Here’ card is from Studio Calico and was a free download for people on the wait list for their Project Life monthly kit. CAN.NOT.WAIT to get my hands on that! I printed them a little small so I added it to a Seafoam card using my Tiny Attacher.
The Amy Tangerine lovefest continues with the background paper for the bottom left pocket. All of the Amy Tangerine products are from the same kit and work well together and all came about because of the flower in the title card. I wanted to mirror the flower with this paper and, to not obscure the great detail, I printed these two Instagram photos of the girls on the smaller side. I added a few pieces of MT washi tape and a cat paperclip from Midori Japan (their website is so cute!). The last photo is from Sunday afternoon when we had massages. When we lived on the other side of town, we used to get reflexology footspas from this chain of chinese massage shops. We’ve moved onto massages (our health fund gives us a small rebate) and we’re up to hour long ones on a fairly regular basis! It’s not a great photo and the colour of the Studio Calico letters do fade into the background a little, but the space at the top worked well for some journaling. The small yellow sticker is from the Studio Calico ‘Yearbook‘ sticker set and I wrote the date on it with a Sharpie.
I think I am still coming out of my lull from a couple of weeks ago and work has recently been a little stressful. Sorry for the filler posts of late, I’m just bobbing along until I pick up and feel inspired and creative again. Hopefully that is soon!
